eXO.cat is a NGO built from individuals with the aim to promote open networking, techno-sovereign, to reduce the digital gap and the access to the wholesale commerce of internet access.

eXO.cat was founded in 2010 as a spin-off from guifi.net project. It was promoted and nowadays run by a number of tech-savvy individuals sharing the same ideology on open and free communications.

The principal objectives of the organization are:

• To promote and encourage the development of open networks and information technologies for a common good.
• To promote and encourage the unversal right to access to communications and information by contributing to reduce the digital gap.
• To promote and encourage the development of open hardware and software to support the network and their use on sectorial applications.
• To spread the knowledge on IT.
• To teach people to become IT techies, installers and also companies so that they can be able to become self-sufficient on connectivity and IT.
• To collaborate with other groups and entities for the exchange of knowledge and join forces.
