Krypton Networks

I worked at Krypton Networks from 2000 to 2002. This company was located in Palamós, Catalunya and was part of a group of companies including Friendware and Rebel Act.

This company offered Internet services such as web hosting, email accounts and also published an online video-game focused magazine: areA66.com.

My role there was as IT Linux specialist. I worked administrating the Red Hat 4 Linux servers and all of the Internet services: email, LDAP, FTP servers, IRC server and web servers.

The technologies used were mainly low cost computers used as servers with Red Hat Linux and one Windows 2000 for the ASP based websites. There was also an old Silicon Graphics Indigo2 doing some logging and network monitoring tasks.

The websites used to be PHP version 3 and CGI-Perl. The databases were on MySQL servers. On the Windows 2000 server the websites were made with ASP + Access but soon they were migrated to PHP3+MySQL.
